Golf Tips For Beginners – How to Cure That Slice
Golf tips for beginners are about as common as oxygen in the atmosphere, but being considered a “beginner” in anything is not always the most comforting thing in the world, especially golf, as us golfers all strive for that “scratch golfer” reputation. Also, one of the biggest and most challenging obstacle to overcome in the game is learning how to cure your slice, as being able to hit the ball straight is futile to shooting low scores and having more fun on the course. But before I reveal one drill that has helped me overcome that darn score-raising slice, just listen to these words. All of the great golfers in the world: Tiger Woods, Sergio Garcia, Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson, etc… were all beginners at some point and I guarantee you that they were struggling with a slice just like you are now. But enough rambling, read, print, and practice this drill, and hopefully your slice will vanish along with your high scores.
Anyways…
I call this drill the “three ball drill.” It is one of the best golf tips for beginners that I can recommend, if you are battling a strong slice:
The next time that you go to the driving range, hopefully soon, get the club that you slice the worst with, i.e. the driver most likely and follow these simple steps:
1)Get three balls out and set one up a normal distance away from you as if you were going to hit it.
2) Then place two balls (teed up if you are using your driver) on each side of the first ball, perpendicularly from you, and leave just enough space to where you can swing the clubhead through.
3)Then take a full swing and attempt to hit the middle ball. Try to just hit the ball in the middle, then it should go relatively straight, as hitting the other balls too will show you that your swing plane, i.e. the “line” that that your club swings on, is faulty, resulting in a slice or off-target shot. Practice this drill lots as I strongly believe that it is a great golf tip for beginners, and soon to be single-handicappers.
The reason that this drill works is because your main goal to learn how to cure that slice is to achieve an inside-to-outside swing path, which will cause you to hit the ball straight.

I bought the Cleveland Launcher right when it came out for around $400 or so, which only made my slice worse. I bought almost all of the training aids featured on the Golf Channel infomercials. But spending all of this money didn’t help at all. I had to face that fact that I was the key to learning how to cure my slice, not my wallet.
So after doing some research on the internet and making a pact with myself to cure my slice, it was time to get down to business…
There are so many “golf tips for beginners” out there that I was kind of lost, about which ones to spend my time on, all of them promising such a huge change in my golf game, that I became skeptical of many of them.
But I ran across one amazing resource, that truly helped me cure my slice once and for all: MySliceCure.com.
It taught me 4 simple drills, without all of the technical golfing lingo, that opened up a whole new golfing world for me. Golf is now so much fun, I love it! And I know you will too, so take my word for it.
I hope everything is going well.
Secret 7 Necessities for Great Golf
The game of golf can be difficult when you consider all of the individual elements. Most golfers are overwhelmed with information regarding which tips will benefit their game and which ones wont.
The most important aspects of the golf swing and the game, in general, all revolve around the building of a strong and solid foundation for the body, the mind and the basics of an athletic swing. Each of the following concepts plays a critical role in your understanding of what creates a great round of golf as well as contributes to a lifetime enjoyment of the game.
Stamina
Golfers tend to ignore the cardiovascular component of golf. However, walkers cover an approximate walking distance of 4-5 miles each round. Even cart riders put in their fair share of walking depending on local cart rules, weather conditions and following errant shots. Poor cardiovascular conditioning can certainly have a negative impact on your game.
Stability
The most important rule in a golf conditioning program is to work and develop strength from the core region of the body outward. A strong trunk allows forces to be transferred effectively from the legs to the upper body. It also enables the body to withstand those forces without breakdown. Stabilization comes in many forms for the golfer including postural stabilization, trunk stabilization and joint stabilization.
Strength
Strength comes in many forms with regard to the golf swing. Strong back muscles allow the golfer to endure the explosive movements in the swing. Strength in the trunk region or core area of the body produces stability and helps to generate power. Combined muscle strength produces balance and coordination. Strong ligaments and tendons also prevent the joints from going beyond their range of motion.
Supple
Flexibility is the single most important physical characteristic likely to influence your golf swing. A tight body creates restricted motion in the swing and produces injuries as a form of compensation. Keep your body supple so it doesnt become a limiting factor in your performance.
Spirit
Attitude is everything! Many experts believe it is careful and premeditated preparation that allows a golfer to experience a mental edge in recreational or tournament play. What you say, what you think and how you act all contribute to your state of mind, and therefore contribute to the outcome of your game. Keep a positive and hopeful spirit when you play.
Sequence
The golf swing can be separated into five biomechanical phases that work in sequence.
Set-up
Backswing
Transition
Downswing
Follow-through
A true understanding of proper body motion at each sequence will ensure consistency in your swing. Consistency is created through proper sequencing and solid mechanics.
Skill
Good swing mechanics is an absolute necessity in any sport and certainly, golf. The idea behind the golf swing is to create a simple and flowing athletic swing free of wasted motion and unnecessary compensations. To accomplish this, one must have the basis of some degree of skill. Work with a golf pro or read a book on swing mechanics.
Use these secret 7 to make your next round, your best ever. Build a strong foundation for golf and for life when you follow these simple steps to improvement.

How to Correct a Slice
All golfers want to know how to correct a golf slice.
There’s nothing more frustrating as a golfer than to be playing well, only to see your next shot go further to the right than it goes straight. It makes you want to snap your golf club in two.
Or at least, wrap it around a tree. Even Tiger gets that feeling (although I’m guessing his mis hits aren’t nearly as bad as our slices).
When fixing a golf slice, you have to figure out what the heck you’re doing wrong first.
1) Is your stance out of wack?
Your feet should be about shoulder width apart.
Your right foot should face straight ahead and your left foot should face slightly to the left of straight ahead (if you’re golfing lefty, reverse this).
Your shoulders should be squared.
2) Is your grip too weak?
A weak grip can be a major cause of a nasty gofl slice. When correcting a golf slice, you definitely need to check your grip.
If you have a weak grip, try a more neutral grip. Face your left hand toward the target and your right hand away from it.
3) Is your swing the problem? A big cause of slicing the ball is coming across the ball at contact from outside to inside.
This puts a nasty slicing spin on the ball and will send it way off to the right. A closed club face coming across the ball, outside to inside, is a nasty recipe for a golf slice.
Be sure that your golf swing is inside to outside at contact.
If you can implement these three simple tips on how to correct a slice into your golf game, you will start to see an improvement in your shots.
You’ll have more consistency and see fewer shots veer to the right and on to the adjacent hole instead of the one your playing.

Golf Swing – Tips To Golf Like A Pro
Your Golf Swing is such an important component of mastering this sport that it pays to work on this probably more than any other part of the game. Without a good swing as a fundamental element, the rest of your golfing game will surely suffer.
To understand what the correct path of the club head should be, try thinking of a rope attached to a tree above you. You should feel that you’re pulling the rope straight down from the top of the backswing. If done correctly, this forces your right elbow to stay close to your side, which is part of maintaining perfect form.
Another aspect of form is the position of your knees. The tendency is to let the left knee collapse toward the right during your backswing, causing the shoulder to drop. Instead, try to imagine your left knee going out toward your target on the backswing.
A very important point to note is that a good swing will pause at the top, very slightly, before changing direction. This will have the effect of keeping your ball towards the middle of the fairway, at least most of the time!
Of course, every good swing begins with the proper grip. Getting this wrong can lead to a hook or slice quite easily. Make sure when you’re looking down, addressing the ball, that you can see the first two knuckles of your left hand, and a “V” formed between the thumb and forefinger pointing toward the right shoulder.
There are more aspects to a great swing that these alone, and every reader is encouraged to check out the following resources, many of which are totally free. The enjoyment you get by working on developing a great golf swing will translate to a lot more joy during your games, for sure!
